Box UK shortlisted in four categories
Box UK and their clients have been shortlisted in four categories at this year’s BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards – IT Employer of the Year, IT Project Team of the Year, Mobile IT Innovation of the Year and, alongside client World Vision UK, Community Project of the Year.
The UK IT Industry awards are the benchmark for excellence throughout the computer industry, and celebrate the contribution of individuals, projects, organisations and technologies that have excelled in the use of IT in the past 12 months. Box UK was previously selected as a medallist in 2010 for IT Employer of the Year, after demonstrating deep commitment to their employees and to fostering an extended culture of innovation. Hoping to continue their success at this year’s finals, the company is now competing against high-profile nominees including HM Revenue & Customs, Standard Life, Capital One and the National Grid.
Talking about the awards, David Clarke, Chief Executive of BCS stated that “On behalf of BCS, I'd like to congratulate all of the finalists. The competition to reach this stage of our prestigious Awards is tough. Our Awards are central to our mission to recognise the innovation and professionalism of those working in IT, and I'm delighted that every year we have such a variety of high-quality entries."
Delivering innovative digital solutions
For Box UK, to have been nominated for IT Employer of the Year for a second year running is recognition of their continued commitment to providing all staff with the tools necessary to deliver effective and original digital solutions, as part of their mission to be seen as one of the best places to work in the UK. To have built upon last year’s success with three additional nominations shows how the company is dedicated to continual improvement and excellence in all areas of operations.
The two nominations for work on World Vision’s Microloans project are also an outstanding achievement. The scheme offers online users a new way to empower hardworking people with ideas for small businesses in developing countries, making use of the internet as a tool for social good by facilitating users as they donate small business loans. It is a great joy to see a client recognised for their work in this way, and as Box UK continues to support organisations and drive innovative, original solutions greater recognition is anticipated in future.
Commitment to technological excellence
In response to the announcement Box UK’s Director of Operations Judy Haynes said, “We’re thrilled to have been chosen as finalists in the three categories we entered, and it’s a great acknowledgement of our commitment to innovation and technological excellence. We’re also extremely pleased to see World Vision gaining the recognition they deserve for this valuable and innovative project, making a real difference to the lives of those most in need by helping them help themselves, their families and communities.”
Following a second round of judging taking place today (30th September) at the Madejski Stadium in Reading, the winners will be announced in a ceremony at Battersea Park Events Arena in London on 10th November.
