Welsh language broadcaster, S4C, is extending its television and online output with the launch of a free downloadable iPhone app, S4C Clic. The new app, launched today, allows viewers to access the S4C on demand service, Clic, to view the Channel’s programmes on demand for up to 35 days after transmission.
S4C Clic is a bilingual app (Welsh and English) which also offers live streaming of the Channel’s television content and two-day programme listings. Box UK are pleased to have delivered the iPhone app for the broadcaster and look forward to extending the app’s availability to the iPad and iPod touch in due course.
S4C’s Director of Broadcast and Distribution, Arshad Rasul, says “Our on line on-demand service Clic is extremely popular and making it available via an iPhone app will further extend its appeal.”
“Mobile is an incredibly exciting space, and one where we’re seeing exponential growth,” said Benno Wasserstein, Box UK’s Managing Director. “We’re proud to work with progressive organisations such as S4C, and are committed to exploring the latest advances in order to deliver more intuitive services like S4C Clic.”
S4C Clic is now available as a free download on the iTunes store.
S4C is the only Welsh language public service broadcaster. S4C broadcasts over 115 hours of programmes each week, including sport, drama, music, factual, entertainment and events, across a range of platforms, including online.
