Nine new team members

Box UK continues to fuel its expansion with the addition of nine new staff:

James Downes, Project Manager

James has 10 years experience in the IT industry, having managed a large development team working on major Government projects. James brings detailed knowledge of accessibility issues and Government standards, and has a particular interest in usability and GUI design.

Aled Treharne, Systems Administrator

Aled Treharne is an experienced systems and network administrator with an extensive background gained in B2B ISPs, his work includes the design, implementation and maintenance of all of Box UK's internal systems, as well as consulting for Box UK on designing large-scale, optimized and highly-available server technologies.

Lauren Matthews, Project Manager

Lauren Matthews (BSc (Hons) International Management, MSc Computer Science) is a Project Manager for Box UK. Lauren has experience in managing a variety of complex technology projects. Her most recent role prior to joining Box UK was as an IT Project Manager for a FTSE 100 company.

Dan Bettles, Amaxus Implementer

Dan Bettles is an Amaxus Implementer. Before joining Box in 2005, he worked for almost five years as an Oracle Developer at the Sony UK Technology Centre in Bridgend.

Gareth Down, System Developer

Gareth joins Box UK from a local authority where he was responsible for their web presence and content management system implementation, development and training. He has many years’ experience with PHP, Javascript, XML, XSLT and RSS and other web technologies. He also has an interest in usability and human computer interaction.

Matt Webb, Business Development

Matt Webb manages the Business Development team, focusing on developing relationships and opportunities. Matt has previously worked for a number of large IT companies, bringing with him a wealth of experience.

Jon Pearse, Systems Developer

Jon Pearse (BSc (Hons) Computer Science) is a member of the development team, and has over 5 years experience in web development. His skills include PHP, Java, mySQL, HTML, CSS and Javascript, and he specialises in user interface creation and development. Before joining Box UK, he worked as a freelance developer for several years.

Scott Sherwood, Amaxus implementer

Scott Sherwood joined Box UK on a one year placement as part of his BSc Internet Computing degree currently being studied at the University of Hull, Centre For Internet Computing. His skills include PHP, Perl, Java, SQL, SVG, VRML, SMIL, HTML, XHTML, CSS2, XML/XSL.
