Box UK’s Dan Zambonini to address British Computer Society
On Thursday 25th May 2006, Box UK Technical Director, Dan Zambonini, will address the AGM of the
Oxfordshire branch of the British Computer Society, with a talk, entitled, ‘The Semantic Web: too smart for its own good?’
The Semantic Web is the next evolutionary step for the Web. By adding computer digestible semantics and logic to the currently available information, we can create software that helps us work more efficiently and discover new patterns and relationships.
The enabling technologies and the software to process and analyse this exciting new data have existed for some time, so the questions remain, why isn’t the semantic web a reality today? Will we see the semantic web in our life times? What are the technical and non-technical issues holding it back?
Dan will attempt to answer these so-far unresolved questions, and more, on 25th May.
