Box UK and British Computer Society Launch Revamped Website

Box UK and the British Computer Society (BCS)  announce the launch of the redeveloped BCS website which provides increased information and resources to the IT industry. The phased launch of the site began in February 2006.

BCS commissioned Box UK to implement Amaxus, its renowned content management system (CMS) to drive the new site, with the strong possibility of working on further sites in the future. BCS

Since revising its membership structure in 2004, BCS has seen membership increase by over 30% to more than 55,000 people. This, in turn, has lead to a stronger demand for the society’s resources, necessitating the redevelopment of its web services.

Over 600 additional pages have been built into the new site, providing comprehensive information on all aspects of the IT profession. With such an obvious wealth of data, the deployment of a highly effective CMS is critical to the performance of the new site.

The state-of-the-art Amaxus CMS supports the high level management of documents, web resources and digital assets and can drive multiple intranets, extranets and websites. Amaxus is currently providing online systems to a number of other prestigious clients, including the NHS, Saatchi & Saatchi and the Royal Navy.

Using the additional power of Amaxus, the latest BCS site features new surveys, advanced searches and an events calendar.

Box UK project manager, Lauren Matthews, comments: “Box UK's ability to secure such a prestigious client speaks volumes for our reputation within the IT industry. We feel that, in Amaxus, we have the premier content management system and, as such, offer the ideal platform for the British Computer Society.”

The next stage of the phased implementation of Bcs.org will see the production of a login area for BCS members, providing exclusive content and services.
