Box UK - be creative. be innovative. be bold.

Ordnance Survey

Ordnance Survey is Great Britain's national mapping agency. It is responsible for creating and updating the master map of the entire country, from which it produces and markets a wide range of digital map data and paper maps for business, leisure, educational and administrative use.

In an ongoing commitment to their customers' privacy, Ordnance Survey have implemented the Platform for Privacy Preferences (P3P) technology in their recently re-launched website (http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk).

Working closely with Ordnance Survey, Box UK helped to create and configure the XML needed to implement P3P, which is "an industry standard providing a simple, automated way for users to gain more control over the use of [their] personal information on Web sites they visit" (w3.org).

"We were delighted with Box UK's flexibility and technical competence" says Rich Prior, Project Manager in Ordnance Survey's Web Management Team. "Having our site P3P enabled will offer significant benefits and reassurance for our many web users."

For further information on P3P and its benefits, see http://www.w3.org/P3P/.
