Can Amaxus sites validate as XHTML 1.0 or HTML 4.01?
The served pages can validate as XHTML 1.0 or HTML 4.01 according to the your organisation's requirements.
As older browsers (such as Netscape 4.7) will not display all CSS (used with XHTML) correctly, there are a number of options. The XHTML can be created so that although it doesn’t display in the same way as on more current browsers all the content will remain accessible.
Another option is to detect the version of the browser being used by the visitor, and serve the page accordingly. A user using Netscape 4.7 could be served with a page using HTML 4.01 rather than XHTML, whereas a user using an up-to-date browser such as IE 6 or Netscape 7 would be served with pages that validate as XHTML 1.0.
