Does Amaxus provide management information and tools to control the relationship between contributors and content?
Amaxus contains advanced audit and workflow reporting facilities, to allow queries based on content and users.
What is Amaxus?
Amaxus, Box UK's XML Content Management System (CMS) facilitates high-level management of documents, web resources and digital assets.
What is a Content Management System?
A content management system (often referred to as a CMS) is a server-based software package that enables users to manage, update and maintain their websites without the need for any specific technical knowledge.
Can the administrator make certain fields mandatory for the contributor?
Any fields can be defined as mandatory fields, forcing content editors to complete these fields. If these are not completed, the system will not allow the content to be added to the system, and will display a pre-defined message.
Is it possible to ensure that URLs of key documents are stable and able to be bookmarked?
Each item of content is assigned a unique, persistent identifier (URL) which remains static throughout its lifetime (i.e. is independent of content/status).
Are there flexible levels of access for users depending on the section of site?
Privileges can be set for specific content types and for specific areas of the site(s). This can allow users to have full administrator or moderator privileges for a particular site, or area of a site, whilst only having author privileges for another.
Is linking and site map generation dynamic? Does Amaxus perform periodic checking of internal/external links?
Internal linking and site-map generation is dynamic. As all internal links are created dynamically the site will never have any dead internal links.
When selecting an image for a page are thumbnails of images in the directory displayed?
Media Files are uploaded as individual objects and stored in a Media Library for future use. The structure of the library is fully customisable through the CMS.
Does the system allow devolved control of access privileges for contributors/editors?
Amaxus allows for an unlimited number of levels of users. Control can be devolved to a department/work area level where administrators control the access privileges for a particular area and/or content type of the site.
Can contributors/authorisers/editors preview draft content to see exactly how it will appear when published?
The WYSIWYG editor has a preview function to view the content in the front-end template.
In addition to this, each site driven by the CMS can be configured with a staged URL, to view staged content that has not yet been made live. This allows a large number of categories and documents to be created and viewed ‘in situ’ before publishing them on the live site.
