Support for RS Components’ “Tour de Branch”

Software development consultancy Box UK joins Adobe and SAP in sponsorship of its client, RS Components, in the distributor’s biggest fundraising challenge to date. RS Components is a global multi-channel provider of industrial and electronic products and solutions, headquartered in Corby. The business has recently embarked on an ambitious “Tour de Branch” cycle ride, which will see over 60 RS employees cycle 1,100 miles between 8th and 19th July – starting in Aberdeen and finishing at the RS Components headquarters in London, having visited every one of the organisation’s 16 RS Local branches along the way.

In doing so, RS Components hopes to raise £250,000 for Children with Cancer UK, the leading national children’s charity dedicated to the fight against childhood cancer.

Cutting-edge technology

As RS Components’ long-term technical partner, Box UK has delivered numerous solutions for the organisation, including overhauling the DesignSpark platform that sits at the heart of their global engineering community.

Focused on facilitating innovation, inspiration and collaboration, DesignSpark have partnered with Zerynth and Polaris for this latest fundraising initiative, to create two programmable units that will track the progress of the riders throughout their journey.

The units will also capture data on air quality throughout the country (alongside information such as temperature, pressure and humidity), to help combat air pollution, and its related diseases.

A fantastic cause

“We’re incredibly proud to be supporting RS Components’ in their latest charity initiative,” said Benno Wasserstein, Box UK Managing Director. “This is a hugely ambitious challenge in aid of a fantastic cause, and we’re delighted to be playing a part in helping the RS Components team achieve their impressive fundraising target. We wish all the riders the very best of luck, and look forward to following their journey.”
