MemCom 2016

Software development consultancy Box UK will act as a headline sponsor at this year’s MemCom conference, taking place at the RCOG in central London on 19th May 2016. The event – which attracts senior marketers from professional associations and other membership organisations – offers attendees the opportunity to network, learn about industry innovation and best practice, and hear talks on a wide range of topics from thought leaders in the sector.

Designing for Desire

As well as having a dedicated exhibition space at the conference, where attendees can talk with members of the team about the latest digital innovations affecting the membership sector, Box UK will also be delivering a presentation titled “Designing for Desire: The Psychology of Influence and Recruiting New Members”.

In this session, Box UK’s Head of User Experience Tom Evans will share insights from psychological research, covering topics such as neuroscience, cognitive biases, nudge theory, social proof, reciprocity and the paradox of choice, that could potentially be used to design more engaging and effective online member recruitment experiences.

Box UK’s partnership with MemCom is a natural progression of their existing relationship with the membership sector, including extensive work with membership organisations such as BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the National Childbirth Trust and the Royal Photographic Society (RPS). The team also continues to support the RCN’s on-going digital transformation initiative, following the development of a new digital platform launched at the end of last year that provides vital information and services for the institution’s 435,000 members.

An exciting time

Speaking in response to the announcement, Box UK’s Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said: “We’re very proud to be one of MemCom’s headline sponsors for this year’s conference. It’s an incredibly exciting time in the membership sector, as digital technologies open up new opportunities for all types of member institutions, and we want to help these organisations leverage this to deliver clear benefits both for their members and their businesses.”
