Government Digital Services Framework

Box UK, a software development consultancy demonstrating outstanding digital capabilities and a portfolio of successfully-delivered projects for numerous international organisations, has been awarded a place on the Government Procurement Service’s Digital Services framework, as part of the pool of suppliers offering digital services that public sector customers can use to tender their requirements. The framework has been created to support the delivery of the Government Digital Strategy by providing easy access to a large, diverse pool of digital talent; reducing barriers to meeting commissioning requirements and helping ensure that all public sector technology projects are delivered to the very highest standards of quality.

The framework covers the delivery of services spanning the entire project lifecycle from the early discovery phases through to iterative testing and improvement, and Box UK has been awarded a place to offer services across the full breadth of digital capabilities such as user research, software engineering and on-going support, content design and development, Agile delivery management, and system administration and web operations.

Digital by Default

Suppliers on the Digital Services framework must comply with the Government Digital Service ‘Digital by Default’ Service Standard. A core part of the Government Digital Strategy, this standard formalises a commitment to ‘build services so good that people prefer to use them’ through developing an in-depth understanding of user needs and assembling multidisciplinary teams to design, build and operate appropriate services, which are then frequently tested and refined to ensure they remain relevant and effective.

Experienced Agile specialists

Under the framework suppliers must employ Agile methodologies (as defined in the Service Design Manual), based around regular feedback and responsiveness to change, to help organisations rapidly improve the services they provide to their users. With consultants and engineers certified in a wide range of Agile methodologies, Box UK’s experience in executing large-scale Agile projects for clients across the globe and supporting enterprise organisations as they transition to Agile ensures they will be able deliver against this requirement.

Quality user-centred products and services

Speaking in response to the government’s announcement, Box UK’s Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said: “We’re very excited to be able to share our development expertise with public sector organisations through our inclusion on the government’s Digital Services framework. As people increasingly conduct their daily communications and interactions online, it’s vital that government and other public sector institutions not only make critical information and services available across these channels but are able to deliver the very highest levels of user satisfaction and engagement through them. At Box UK we’re experienced in creating digital products and services that keep the user at the heart of the process, and are looking forward to extending our portfolio in the public sector through this latest appointment.”
