We are pleased to announce that software development consultancy Box UK has been named a finalist in this year’s 2018 UK Digital Experience Awards (DXA), alongside its client, leading medical journal the BMJ.
This honour is in recognition of the BMJ’s Best Practice suite of products, including the Best Practice App which last year was rebuilt from the ground up by Box UK.
Now in its 4th year, the UK Digital Experience Awards seeks to reward excellence and innovation in using digital technology to improve the customer experience, celebrating organisations using applications to meet customer needs and deliver business or organisational benefits.
With entries welcomed from SMEs through to enterprise organisations across the UK, in both B2B and B2C sectors, BMJ and Box UK are joined as finalists in their categories by other high-profile organisations such as Worcester Bosch and Jaguar Land Rover.
The BMJ Best Practice app is a crucial decision-making tool that provides students and medical practitioners with the tools they need to better understand symptoms and treatments at the point of care.
To do this effectively, information needs to be instantly accessible, anywhere it’s needed, so the BMJ approached Box UK with the requirement to rebuild the app with a focus on improving usability, accessibility and performance.
The app is now unique in its market, providing evidence-based information in an easy-to-use yet clinically-accurate way, both online and offline. The time required to download the app and its contents has been reduced by 70% while storage space has been reduced by 60%, and user feedback and reviews have improved significantly:
“This is the best mHealth decision support tool I have found… Highly recommended for clinicians and academics alike.”
Speaking in response to the announcement, Box UK Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said:
“It’s great to see the work we’ve done with the BMJ honoured by these prestigious national awards. Over 100,000 medical professionals worldwide rely on the BMJ Best Practice App to make crucial clinical decisions, when lives are truly on the line, and we’re extremely proud to have supported improvements to this vital service.
“Alongside the WalesOnline Digital Awards announcement earlier this month, this latest achievement is a fantastic tribute to the success of this partnership, and the effort undertaken by both the Box UK and BMJ teams.”
The awards finals will take place on Thursday 12th July 2018 at the Park Plaza Riverbank, London. Finalists will present to a large panel of independent and impartial judges, before a gala dinner when the winners will be revealed.
