Best Place to Work in IT 2015

Following a recent announcement by the BCS & Computing UK IT Industry Awards, we are pleased to say that Box UK has been named as a finalist in the “Best Place to Work in IT” category, joining high-profile organisations including Zurich Insurance, the National Grid and the Yorkshire Building Society.

Great career opportunities

The award recognises those organisations across the country that provide the best employment and career opportunities for IT professionals; offering career and skills development, reward and recognition for personal success, and industry-leading employment benefits. Box UK has been honoured after demonstrating a commitment to excellence in these areas through initiatives such as a formal learning and development programme, social and charity committees, and the use of online communication tools that encourage peer-to-peer knowledge-sharing and collaboration.

A reputation for excellence

This achievement sees Box UK strengthen its reputation as a leading employer, after gaining a place on the Sunday Times 100 Best Small Companies to Work For list earlier in the year. The software development consultancy also holds the prestigious Investors in People (IIP) Silver status awarded to only 6% of IIP applicants, and was recently re-accredited to the ISO 9001:2008 quality standard.

Planning for the future

Speaking about the news Box UK’s Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said: “Being named as a finalist in the UK IT Industry Awards is a great achievement, and a fantastic reflection of the effort we put into ensuring our team are provided with the skills and support they need to thrive. It’s our ambition to be known as one of the best places to work not just in IT, but for any sector across the country, and we’re already looking at ways to build on our current successes to further this aim.”

Showcasing innovation and professionalism

Group CEO at BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT Paul Fletcher has praised the shortlisted organisations: “As the Chartered Institute for IT I’d like to congratulate this year’s finalists. They showcase not only the innovation and the professionalism of those working in IT, but also demonstrate the importance of IT in delivering economic and societal benefit.”

Stuart Sumner, Editor of Computing added: “I would like to congratulate the finalists. The UK IT Industry Awards are rigorously judged by a panel of peers and experts, and to be announced as a finalist really is a great achievement.”

Industry celebration

Medallists and winners will be announced at a prize giving ceremony to be held later in the year, which will see over 1,300 industry professionals come together to celebrate best practice, innovation and excellence.
