Award-winning partnership

Box UK is pleased to announce its shortlisting for “Best pro bono work for a charitable, social or ethical cause” in the 2013 Corporate Engagement Awards (CEAs), a direct result of the company’s continued involvement in strengthening relations between industry and education.

As Europe’s benchmarking programme for corporate social responsibility the CEAs showcase the best partnerships, sponsorships and community projects from across the country. Previous winners include BT, FedEx, British Gas and Barclays, and this year’s event saw a doubling of entries making competition particularly strong. Box UK is joined in its category by internationally-recognised companies including KPMG, Arcadis and BNY Melon.

Strong foundation for IT growth

The CEA judging panel recognised a number of innovative schemes managed and funded by Box UK that support the software consultancy’s on-going commitment to nurturing a positive, productive relationship with education institutions and providing a strong foundation for future growth in the IT sector. These include extending their highly successful Masterclass format to encourage participation from schools, colleges and universities, as well as hosting 18 young coders at their Cardiff office for Young Rewired State’s (YRS’) national Festival of Code; the only code centre for the event in Wales.

Investment in the community

Speaking in response to the announcement Benno Wasserstein, Managing Director at Box UK said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in the Corporate Engagement Awards, and particularly proud that our pro bono work with education establishments is being recognised as industry-leading in this way. Developing the next generation of skilled software professionals is something very important to us, and we’re actively seeing this investment in the community generate increased enthusiasm and engagement in the subject.”
