Following news from the international Communicator Awards, we are pleased to announce that the programme has honoured two projects recently delivered by Box UK with the prestigious Silver Award of Distinction. RS Components’ DesignSpark platform was recognised in the “Features – Best Practices for Websites” category, while further success came in the “Features – Best Practices for Mobile Apps / Sites” category, for the relaunched BMJ Best Practice application.
The largest and most competitive awards programme honouring creative excellence for communications professionals, this year the Communicator Awards received over 6,000 entries from across the globe. These most recent wins bring Box UK’s total number of Communicator Awards to seven, having achieved success in previous years with clients Careers Wales, TBC Bank, RS Components and the Royal College of Nursing.
“We are both excited and amazed by the quality of work received for the 23rd Annual Communicator Awards. This year’s class of entries is a true reflection of the progressive and innovative nature of marketing and communications,” noted Linda Day, executive director of the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts. She added, “On behalf of the entire Academy I want to applaud this year’s Communicator Awards entrants and winners for their dedication to perfecting their craft as they continue to push the envelope of creativity.”
As their long-term technical partner, Box UK has delivered numerous solutions for RS Components over the years that have produced measurable results. This includes overhauling their DesignSpark platform, which sits at the heart of their global engineering community. Through DesignSpark, engineers can access a wealth of valuable information, tools and resources, putting RS Components front-of-mind for subsequent purchase activity and supporting cross-selling opportunities.
The transformation began with a series of discrete projects focused on individual elements of the platform, helping minimise risk and supporting an iterative approach that enabled stakeholder and user feedback to be addressed throughout development. Now, RS Components has a powerful and integrated ecosystem from which to drive crucial marketing activity, enabling them to make the most of the data they possess to deliver an exceptional experience that increases engagement, satisfaction, and sales.
BMJ first approached Box UK with an ambitious plan to develop a new ‘BMJ Best Practice’ mobile application; requiring that it be completely rebuilt from the ground up to optimise the user experience.
Used by healthcare professionals across the globe, BMJ Best Practice supports clinical decision-making at the point of care. To do this effectively, information needs to be accessible anywhere, presented quickly and in a way that supports the patient consultation process.
As a result of the project, the app and its content can be downloaded almost 40% faster than before and requires significantly less memory on any device. Improvements made to the search function and the structure of the search results ensure that users get accurate answers, quickly.
Speaking in response to the Communicator Awards announcement, Box UK’s Managing Director Benno Wasserstein said: “It’s fantastic that once again projects delivered by Box UK have been recognised by this respected institution. We’re proud to produce solutions that make a real difference to the business performance of our clients, and that measurably improve the digital experience for their users, and this latest achievement demonstrates our success in meeting this objective. On top of our previous Communicator Award wins too it highlights the importance we place on delivering the highest levels of quality, consistently and over the long-term; this value is central to our approach and culture, and we look forward to building upon this as we continue to grow and evolve.”
