Following publication of the first round winners in Global Finance Magazine’s ‘World’s Best Internet Banks’ competition, Box UK is pleased to announce that its client TBC Bank has been named as both the best consumer and corporate internet bank in Georgia. The bank, which serves over one million customers across four business segments, also won in the Best Bill Payment & Presentment, Best Integrated Consumer Bank Site and Best Integrated Corporate Bank Site categories of the regional awards, which recognise the very best online service providers across Central and Eastern Europe.
Recognising high standards
Now in their 14th year, the Global Finance competition rewards those financial institutions that display strength of strategy for attracting and servicing online customers as well as evidence of tangible benefits gained from internet initiatives, with winners selected from entries evaluated by a world-class panel of judges at leading technology consultancy Infosys. Speaking about this year’s awards Joseph D. Giarraputo, publisher of Global Finance said: “The internet has transformed the way many consumers and most businesses bank. The continuing improvements in internet offerings represented by this year’s entries show that more significant internet banking developments are still ahead of us.”
Box UK and TBC Bank
As part of the bank’s strategy to move more transactions online and away from their physical branches, Box UK’s User Experience (UX) and design team are currently helping research, consult and design TBC Bank’s customer experiences across all of their business-critical digital touch points, from their customers’ online banking portal and public websites through to mobile banking applications. Following an initial discovery and requirements gathering phase, UX and creative designs for a personal iPad application have recently been delivered, with the team now looking at a responsive redesign of their public-facing website.

Global competition
As a national winner TBC Bank joins internationally-recognised financial institutions such as Citi, Wells Fargo, Santander and HSBC in going forward to the global stage of the competition, with winners announced at a ceremony taking place in New York City in November.
