Senior Project Manager

Location: Cardiff – Flexible Hybrid Working

Salary: up to £55,000 per annum   

As a Senior Project Manager, you utilise your extensive skills and experience to lead, organise and motivate agile project teams in the timely and accurate delivery of software enterprise projects.

A strong communicator with the ability to collaborate and engage with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, you are able to drive results in dynamic environments, performing at a high level and fast pace to deliver on time and on budget, high quality outputs, from inception through to successful project completion.

In this role you will…

Engage with stakeholders

  • Identify, analyse and capture stakeholder interests to determine an agreed schedule of project requirements. 
  • Establish and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, decision makers and executives, actively seeking and assessing feedback and adapting stakeholder management plans accordingly. 
  • Develop communication plans to provide project stakeholders with clear, timely and relevant project information. 

Manage Agile Digital Transformation Projects:

  • Plan, develop and consolidate high quality project documentation in line with project deliverables, capturing scope, scheduling, resourcing, budgets, risks, opportunities and quality requirements. 
  • Develop project resource allocation plans, providing accurate forecasting of resource requirements. 
  • Plan, control and accurately report on key project metrics including: financials, key risks and mitigation, status and forecasts.
  • Document accurate project and sprint activity, milestones, review points and critical events, monitoring progress and updating schedules accordingly. 

Lead Agile Project Teams 

  • Lead by example, empowering and inspiring the project delivery team and ensuring that trust, confidence and collaboration is maintained throughout the project delivery cycle. 
  • Facilitate Agile stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and sprint-planning sessions with the project team and stakeholders, acting in a scrum master capacity.

Manage Risks

  • Proactively identify, monitor and report on project risks (threats and opportunities), developing and implementing mitigation plans accordingly. Facilitate Agile stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and sprint-planning sessions with the project team and stakeholders, acting in a scrum master capacity.

Manage Process and Improvements 

  • Follow Box UK project management and agile software development best practices, with a focus on effective governance and project status transparency.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives.

Support Company Growth

  • Support the execution of Box UK strategic initiatives to achieve company growth ambitions and goals.

And you will also need… 

Essential Skills

  • A minimum of 3 years experience managing software delivery projects in an agile environment
  • Excellent  client communication and management skills
  • Motivated by, and able to motivate others,  in  achieving set goals or targets
  • Enjoy taking responsibility for project delivery and managing risks

Desirable

  • Certified Scrum Master
  • Experience in a Service Delivery role with knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Experience of working in an Agency or software development house environment
