Thanks for signing up to participate in a Box UK usability testing session – you’ll be playing a crucial role in helping us assess the performance of our clients’ digital services! Here, we’ve brought together everything you need to know about how the testing process works, to help ensure your session runs smoothly.
And if you have any questions, require further information, or need to advise us of any special requirements (for example, with regards accessibility), please email a member of our team at ux@boxuk.com, and we’ll respond as soon as we can.
Our usability testing sessions usually take place in our dedicated lab – we’ll let you know if this isn’t the case.
You can find us at Box UK, Westgate Court, Westgate St, Cardiff CF10 1DD (click to view map). It’s a 5-minute walk from Cardiff Central train station, and many bus routes also run directly to Westgate Street.
If you’re coming by car, the nearest parking can be found at the NCP and Cardiff Arms park car parks; both on Westgate Street and approximately 2 minutes’ walk away.
Please ring the buzzer and sign in at reception; you’ll then be directed to the testing suite waiting room, where you can also leave your coat and/or bag as needed.
Occasionally we will conduct testing at our client’s offices, an alternative on-site location, or via a remote setup. If this is the case full instructions should have been communicated when you received details of your testing slot – but if you’re not sure, you can confirm with one of our team by emailing ux@boxuk.com.
It’s important to note that we are asking you to serve as an evaluator of a website, and our goal is to see how easy or difficult you find it to use. We will make note of your reactions and opinions, and so may ask you to clarify statements that you make from time to time; maybe during a debrief at the end of the session. This is not a test of you; you’re testing the service or site in question. There are no right or wrong answers!
