iPhone Regular Train App

iPhoneAny iPhone user who commutes regularly between specific UK train stations could find this useful. Set it up with your favourite journeys (not that it's really possible to 'enjoy' train journeys in the UK!), and you'll then be able to quickly find the next five train times between these stations whenever you need to, including any disruptions to regular services. Created by Box UK developer Richard John.

hoard.it

hoard.itThe museum sector participates in an ever-growing number of 'cross collection search' projects that attempt to aggregate or search across the artefacts from multiple institutions. These projects can take years and millions of dollars to establish. Hoard.it was created as a prototype lightweight alternative to these projects, using simple templated screen-scraping technology, and is the subject of a presentation at Museums and the Web 2009. Created collaboratively by Box UK Technical Director Dan Zambonini and Eduserv Solution Architect Mike Ellis.

Last.fm scrobbler

last.fmAnyone who's used last.fm (and, let's face it, who hasn't?) will appreciate how frustrating it can be to listen to music sources that can't 'scrobble' their data to your account. Box UK developer Cameron Ross attended the last.fm Hack Day in 2008, creating a 'Universal Scrobbler' that can solve some of this pain, and won himself an Xbox 360 for his troubles!
